Introduction
At Webpifier, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our image compression and conversion service for WebP and AVIF formats.
Privacy First Approach
We designed Webpifier with a "privacy first" approach, meaning:
- All image processing happens completely within your browser
- Your images never leave your device
- No personal data is collected
- You can opt out of all analytics with a single click
Data Processing
Our image compression service operates entirely within your browser:
- Local Processing: All image processing is performed 100% locally on your device.
- No Server Uploads: Your images are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- No Personal Information: We do not collect your name, email, or other personal identifiers.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share any data with third parties.
Anonymous Usage Statistics
We collect limited anonymous usage statistics to help us improve our service:
- Compression Stats: Total number of files compressed and MB saved (aggregated, not individual)
- Page Views: Basic information about which pages are visited
- Referrers: Information about where visitors come from
- Browser/Device: Basic information about browser type and device
- User Interaction: Anonymous data about how visitors interact with the site
This anonymous data is collected using:
- Umami Analytics: A privacy-focused analytics platform that respects "Do Not Track" settings and does not use cookies.
- Supabase: We use Supabase to track global statistics such as total files converted and total file size compressed. This helps us understand the overall usage and impact of our service without identifying individual users.
- Custom API: Our own API that only stores aggregated statistics without any personal identifiers.
Why We Use Analytics
We use analytics solely for the following purposes:
- Service Improvement: Understanding how people use our site helps us improve the user experience.
- Usage Tracking: We're curious to see how many people use the service and find it helpful.
- Performance Monitoring: Identifying potential issues or areas for optimization.
- Global Impact: Tracking the total number of files converted and storage saved helps us see the collective impact of the service.
We believe in transparency and honesty. Our analytics are minimal, anonymous, and focused on improving the service rather than profiling users or selling data.
Your Privacy Options
We provide several ways for you to control your privacy:
- Privacy Banner: When you first visit our site, you can accept or decline analytics tracking.
- Privacy Settings: Access privacy settings anytime through the floating privacy button at the bottom-right of the page.
- Do Not Track: We honor your browser's "Do Not Track" setting automatically.
- Opt Out: You can opt out of all analytics tracking using the button at the top of this page.

This data is used solely for the purpose of operating the service. For more information, please see Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Data Security
We take several measures to ensure data security:
- All connections are secured using HTTPS/TLS encryption
- API endpoints are protected against abuse through rate limiting
- Origin verification is implemented to prevent unauthorized API access
- Security headers are set to prevent common web vulnerabilities
